Dhing Express Hima Das Faces Suspension for Doping Control Violations

Indian athlete Hima Das, known as the “Dhing Express,” is facing a suspension by the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) for failing to provide her whereabouts to doping control officials on three separate occasions within a year. While the maximum ban for such an offense is two years, the duration of her suspension may be reduced to one year depending on the circumstances. This setback comes as Das had already withdrawn from the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, due to a hamstring injury, and missed the final selection trials. Hima Das has previously achieved remarkable success in athletics, including winning medals at the 2018 Jakarta Asian Games. NADA is yet to announce the specific duration of her suspension.
