US President Recovers from COVID-19, Set to Visit India for G20 Summit

In a significant development, US President Joe Biden has fully recovered from COVID-19 just days before his scheduled visit to India for the G20 Summit. On Tuesday, he tested negative for the virus, according to White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre. However, US First Lady Jill Biden, who tested positive for COVID-19, will remain in the US as she experiences mild symptoms.

President Biden will adhere to safety protocols during his visit to India, including wearing a mask indoors and around others, in line with CDC guidelines. He will remove his mask when maintaining a sufficient distance from others.

The G20 Summit, set for September 9 and 10 in New Delhi, remains a significant diplomatic event. President Biden is expected to hold a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and address various global issues, including the social consequences of Russia’s conflict in Ukraine. Following the summit, President Biden will also visit Vietnam as part of his international itinerary.

This development signals a positive turn of events for the eagerly awaited G20 Summit and strengthens diplomatic ties between India and the United States.
